Dad Kills Mom, Other Man, Kidnaps 5-Year-Old; Dad Later Shot and Killed by Police

Dad kills mom, other man, kidnaps 5-year-old; dad later shot and killed by police (Anaheim, California)

Dad ANTHONY CASTILLO is “suspected” of killing his ex-girlfriend, the mother of their 5-year-old son, and another man. He then kidnapped the little boy. As usual, “together time” was not the motive in this, as Daddy abandoned the child at a relative’s house. Dad was later shot and killed by police. And the press has the nerve to call this a “custody dispute”? This is an orgy of pure violence and control. Paternal “feeling” had nothing to do with it.

Double Murder Suspect Shot and Killed by Police

ANAHEIM — Police in Anaheim have fatally shot a man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend and another man and kidnapping his son Wednesday morning.

Officers located Anthony Castillo, 31, at about 6 p.m. Wednesday outside an apartment complex at Juno Avenue and Loara Street, armed with a handgun, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez.

Officers ordered Castillo to drop the weapon and when he did not comply, they opened fire. It’s not clear whether Castillo fired any shots.

Castillo was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police recovered a handgun at the scene.

Hours earlier, police say, Castillo dropped of his five-year-old son at a grandparent’s home in Orange County after fleeing with him following a double homicide.

An amber alert was issued for Ometal “Omie” Castillo shortly after his mother and a man were shot to death inside an apartment in the 200 block of South Rio Vista Street, Martinez said.

Officers were called to the Mariposa Apartments around 5:45 a.m. after residents reported hearing gunshots and screaming.

Inside the apartment, police found a woman shot to death, Martinez said. She was identified as 31-year-old Heather Courtney Sorensen.

A man, identified as Stephen Rene Serna, 35, was found shot in the head. It’s believed Serna was Sorensen’s boyfriend. He later died at a local hospital, Martinez said.

Police say Sorensen lived inside the apartment with the child and a female roommate.

Castillo did not live at the apartment, police said.

A motive in the shooting is under investigation, however, Martinez said it’s possible it stemmed from a custody dispute.

Trae sustained critical injuries and was flown to hospital, where he died.

Stephens’ niece Nakita, 12, suffered severe head injuries after being thrown out of the back window.

Multiple Restraining Order Recipient Mark K. Godbey Continues to Abuse Women with Fake Anonymummies Site

September 27, 2009

the TRUTH about the creator of the FAKE anonymummies site

Some of you may have seen (if you follow my site and are aware of my sisters in arms), that there is an impostor in our midst. No I am not speaking of any of the wonderful men and women who spread the TRUTH about family court and the treatment abused women and children receive at the hands of those in power (and those not in power). No, gentle readers, I am speaking of a certain FATHER’S RIGHTS blogger who has decided imitation is NOT the best form of flattery. He has in fact taken an awesome organization who helps protective moms and the abused children and sullied their name. That “OTHER” blog site (not Blogger) has decided to ignore this blatant copyright infringement and allow this FATHER’S RIGHTS blogger to continue to spread his hate and misogyny. Not only does he do this on his own “Parental Father’s Rights blog, but now he is attacking decent hard working WOMEN with his hate.

Well Petunia made a promise and I follow through on my promises. I did my research and BAM, WHOP, POP, SOCKEM (just like batman) I hit the JACKPOT!!!!

Petunia!!!!!!! Have you gone off your rocker? No, I say, the light is just so much clearer now that I have the actual court docket on front of my eyes.

First let me same damn!!!!! MKG you are like a dog with a damn good bone. You REALLY do NOT want to let go of this do you? Is 10 years not long enough to be terrorizing your ex-wife in court?

Now that I have your interest piqued, lets move on with the good stuff. How about Restraining orders? Oh yeah this case is full of them. Now who asked for what is unclear, but we know how it actually works right? One must wonder how many belong to ex-wife, and how many are MKG and his ANGER at work? Lets see total RO mentions to date number: more than 10 in 10 years. His ex-wife has had to ask that the TRO be reinstated at least 3 times.

Now contempt charges? No mention of the petitioning party regarding these contempt charges but there are at least 3 separate charges.

Child support? Oh that is mentioned – EVERY OTHER LINE!!!!!

So we see where MKG’s heart lies…..

The children apparently have their own attorney, and it appears from knowledge gleaned from elsewhere (other woman-hate websites and from MKG’s own website) that these children do NOT want to have any contact with MKG, whatsoever. MKG will you come forward about that or will you keep hiding behind your fake and pathetic woman-hate sites?

Now with these little tidbits of info, Petunia has this advice for you MKG. I really think you would do yourself and the world a favor if you stopped spreading your hate and lies. I will continue to spread the truth and protection for the TRUE victims out there if your hate continues.

Got it?

Oh and one must wonder why this case is one in which a noted DV attorney is now (or was at one time) involved in? Hmmm does MKG have something to hide? I truly hope his ex has a great support system. Sister, you are in this for life, you got a bone hog for an ex-husband. My condolences go out to you.

Shooting deaths of Sunrise family may be murder-suicide, police say

By Mike Clary and Juan Ortega

South Florida Sun Sentinel

12:37 p.m. EDT, September 28, 2009

SUNRISE – The deaths of a Sunrise man, his wife and their daughter who were found shot in their home could be a murder-suicide, police said today.

Police have not released the names of those who died, but family friend Sam Mitchell identified them as Quincy Kelly, 35; his wife Lisa, 32; and their 13-year-old daughter Soraya, a student at Westpine Middle School.

Mitchell said Quincy Kelly had recently lost his job, but he didn’t think it was related to what happened.

“No one knows exactly what happened,” said Mitchell, one of dozens of parishioners from the Kelly family’s church who gathered at the Kellys’ house over the weekend.

Police discovered the family just before 2 a.m. Sunday when they responded to a domestic disturbance call from the residence in the 8100 block of Northwest 21st St.

Relatives of Quincy Kelly let police officers into the home and directed them to a locked rear bedroom. When they got no response from inside the room, police broke down the door, according to police spokesman Lt. Brian Gerity.

While a murder-suicide is a possibility, police said they are still investigating and can’t say for sure yet. No other details are available.

Mitchell said he has known the Kelly family for years through the Lauderdale Lakes church where they worshiped, the Episcopal Church of the Atonement.

Kelly and his wife were natives of Jamaica, said Mitchell, as are many members of the Church of the Atonement.

Church services were proceeding normally Sunday when Pastor Earl Henry, reading from a note he had just been handed, delivered the bad news.

“We all just got up and left immediately,” Mitchell said. “It was a total shock.”

Mitchell described Kelly as “one happy person, very humorous.” He said he spoke to Kelly on Thursday, and “There was no sign of anything like this.”

Mitchell said Kelly worked with computers and loved cars.

In front of the house were at least two vehicles offered for sale. A voice message at the number on the cars identified the seller as Sunrise Auto Brokers.

Mitchell said that Kelly’s mother, Fay Kelly, and his aunt also live at the house.

He described Fay Kelly and the aunt, whose name he did not know, as too shaken by the killings to speak to reporters.

Veronica Chester, who lives across the street from the homicide scene, said, “You would never expect this in our neighborhood.”

Dad Accused of Killing Mom While Two Kids at Home

Dad accused of killing mom while 2 kids at home; when son called 911, dad told him to “let her die” (York, Pennsylvania)

Dad FRANCIS PLAZA is accused of killing the mother of their 3 children while 2 were at home. It is reported that Mom wanted to leave him, and that’s why he shot her. You fill in the blanks as to why she’d want to leave him…(here’s a clue: dad overheard in the background of the 911 call telling the son to “let her die.”) If you even make an effort, you’ll probably know more than the clueless neighbors ever did. Reporters: Please talk to the kids or Mom’s friends or family. I’m sure they can tell you more than the neighbors ever did.

York County Man Accused of Killing Wife with Two Kids at Home is Arraigned
Michael Gorsegner Staff reporter
10:35 AM EDT, September 28, 2009

YORK – The York County man, accused of killing his wife while two of his three children were home, was arraigned this morning. Francis Plaza plead not guilty to first and third degree murder. Judge John S. Kennedy set the next hearing date for November 19, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. That will be a pre-trial conference.

York Area Regional police say this man, 50-year-old Francis Plaza, shot and killed his wife in July while two of his sons, 18 and 7-years of age were at home.

“To find out somebody was shot. That’s amazing,” said neighbor Mike Trimmer after the crime happened on July 25.

Court documents say, Plaza and his wife, 44-year-old Michelle were having an argument inside their York Township apartment. Investigators think Michelle telling Francis she was leaving him might have lead Francis to shoot her several times.

“It really makes you stop and think what’s going on? It’s always been a quiet neighborhood. We’ve never had anything like this happen before,” said neighbor Kevin Schnetzka during a July 25 interview.

“A father, two kids and his wife, what happened?” said neighbor Mike Richards during a July 25 interview.

But what happened next may have been the most shocking part. Police say, Francis could be heard in the background of a 9-11 call placed by their 18-year-old son looking for help for his mom. He was heard during the call saying, “Just let her die boy. Let her die.”

“They’re going to have to live with seeing their mother that way. You know what I mean. That’s burned. That’s a picture that’s painted that’s not going to fade,” Richards said.

Police say they recovered a gun from the home and after taking Francis Plaza in to custody.

The couple’s third son, age 13, was not home at the time of the shooting. Police say, Francis Plaza has admitted to pulling the trigger but said it was not premeditated. He is being charged with one count of criminal homicide.

Dad with “Shared Custody” May Have Shot and Killed Mom as Part of “Custody Dispute”

Monday, September 14, 2009

Dad with “shared custody” may have shot and killed mom as part of “custody dispute” (Irvine, California)

Dad BRIAN BENEDICT may have murdered his ex-wife as part of a “custody dispute” (i.e. abuser dad didn’t want to pay child support). It is not clear whether the 4-year-old child was nearby, or witnessed the shooting. However, at minimum, we have a child who has been stripped of his mom for the rest of his life. But Dad doesn’t seem to care about that, just his wallet. Note that dad had “shared custody”–which is what all the fathers rights people say they want–but that didn’t make him happy. Nope, it was all about the money, not about his child.

Sorry, I don’t feel sorry for Dad. For a time, I was a non-custodial parent and unemployed (through a layoff), and paying over 100% of my income between child support and court-ordered health insurance coverage for my child through COBRA. It was all of my unemployment check and then some. And I didn’t kill anybody. Didn’t even come close. So I don’t want to hear any fathers rights pity parties.

UC Irvine shooting may have been custody dispute
(AP) – 4 hours ago

IRVINE, Calif. — Police are investigating whether a custody battle prompted a University of California, Irvine student to kill the mother of his 4-year-old son on campus.

Brian Benedict, a 35-year-old physics graduate student, was arrested at about 7 p.m. Sunday following the first on-campus killing in the history of the Orange County school.

He remained jailed on $1 million bail. City police Lt. John Hare said he did not know whether Benedict had an attorney.

Benedict and his ex-wife, Rebecca Benedict, 30, shared custody of their 4-year-old son, but he had been distraught following their breakup and had attempted suicide, court records show. He had been ordered to pay twice as much child support as he had expected and might have been forced to leave school, according to the records.

Rebecca Benedict went to the campus on Sunday evening to pick up the boy from his father’s apartment in a graduate student housing complex when the couple got into an argument, Hare said.

She left the building and was in the parking lot when Benedict, who had followed her, fired several shots with a handgun and struck her at least once, Hare said.

She was pronounced dead at a hospital. Witnesses detained Benedict until police arrived, Hare said.

The boy was nearby, but it was unclear whether he saw the shooting, Hare said. He said the child was turned over to other family members.

The Benedicts were married on April 1, 2004, and separated on Sept. 30, 2006, court records show. Rebecca Benedict filed for divorce on Jan. 16.

The couple had agreed that Brian Benedict would pay $450 per month in child support, but a judge on Thursday ordered him to pay $920 per month, according to records cited by the Orange County Register.

Benedict, who quit a six-figure job as an aerospace cost analyst to attend graduate school, earned $26,889 as a student researcher, according to his 2008 federal tax form.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Nancy A. Pollard set the child support figure based on his earlier, higher income.

“The court finds that the care and maintenance of the child is more important than the care and maintenance of the father’s schooling,” according to a summary of the ruling.

Earlier this month, Brian Benedict had asked campus safety officials questions about child custody, UC Irvine Assistant Police Chief Jeff Hutchison said.

“It was a less than 10-minute conversation, and there was nothing unusual in his demeanor,” Hutchison said.

Dad shoots mom in the head as 2- and 3-year-old sons forced to watch (Belle Glade, Florida)

This poor mom “was trying to make the relationship work for her children.” But that didn’t stop stay-at-home (read: unemployed) UNNAMED DAD from shooting her in the head in front of their 2- and 3-year-old sons. These babies had to unlock the front door and run to a neighbor’s to get help. Beyond sickening….

Children watch mother shot in Belle Glade
Reported by: Paige Kornblue
Reported by: Jamie Holmes

Last Update: 9/24 6:51 am

BELLE GLADE, FL — Family members of the woman involved in Wednesday night’s double shooting say she has been in surgery at Delray Medical Center overnight and is in critical condition.

According to the woman’s sister, the 20-year-old woman was shot in the head by the father of her children in front of the young children.

The man then shot and killed himself.

The shootings happened around 7:00 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Palm Glade Drive.

We’re told the couple’s two young boys were forced to watch as their dad tried to murder their mom in their apartment.

When the man thought the woman was dead, he turned the gun on himself.

The two young boys then ran to a neighbor’s home crying for help.

The woman’s sister tells WPTV NewsChannel 5 her sister is an outstanding mother who was supporting the father.

Family members of the victim say she was trying to make the relationship work for the children.
The victim’s family members also say both the man and woman grew up in Belle Glade.

——————————————————————————–

BELLE GLADE, FL — They watched it all. A three-year-old and his two-year-old brother trapped in their apartment and forced to watch as their daddy tried to murder their mommy.

When the man thought the woman was dead, he turned the gun on himself.

Only when it was over, was the older child able to unlock the front door and both children ran to a neighbor’s house crying their mommy and daddy had been shot.

“It’s sad. I just wish I knew why, ” says Nikita Brown, a neighbor.

What happened here was the end to a love affair.

Friends say the couple met five years ago, were head-over-heels for each other but had since fallen in a rut.

He had moved to Orlando but was back in Belle Glade trying to reconcile the relationship.

He was cooking her dinners, taking care of the house, trying to make it work.

Friends tell us though she was set on leaving. She wouldn’t get the chance …

Instead what once was passion twisted to violence and tonight two children, too young to understand why, saw things no eyes should ever see.

“To his family, I’m sorry. To her family, I wish the best.”

Dad of Murdered Kids Arrested, He Threw Them into a Reservoir

Dad of murdered kids arrested; he threw them in a reservoir (Chandrapur, India)

Dad SHALIK WARHADE has been arrested for murdering his two children by throwing them into the Chargoan Dam (reservoir). Dad has allegedly confessed. His excuse: he was mad at his wife because it appears she stopped him from “meeting the kids”–it now looks like she had solid reason, yes?

Father of murdered kids arrested
Mazhar Ali, TNN 14 September 2009, 07:08am IST

CHANDRAPUR: Shegaon police on Friday finally nabbed the man accused of murdering his two kids at Chargaon dam in Warora tehsil. The bodies of three-year-old Mansi and one and a half year old Chetan were fished out on late Wednesday night. Cops claimed that accused Shalik Warhade has confessed to the crime.

A pall of gloom descended on Khambada after the bodies of the tiny tots were found. Their mother Sapna was inconsolable. Investigations revealed that Warhade had a heated argument with his angry wife before he left with the two kids. Later, he threw the kids into the dam, said the police.

The accused was hiding in village Neri at an acquaintance’s residence. People in the neighbourhood got suspicious of his prolonged stay and quizzed him about his identity. Sensing trouble, Warhade panicked and tried to flee, but was caught by a mob and handed over to the police.

During investigation, Warhade spilled the beans. He said that after an altercation with his wife, who stopped him from meeting the kids, he snatched them and took them to Warora. At acquaintance Shankar Jogi’s residence, Warhade had lunch with the kids and then at about 2 pm, he set off for Chargaon. At the dam, he first tried to drown the kids, but since he could not cope with their innocent cries, he stopped himself from the act.

A mellow Warhade then played with the kids for two hours, but once again hatred for his wife got the better of him and in a fit of rage, he threw the kids into the reservoir and walked away without looking back, said cops.

A few years ago when his father-in-law Raju Pathak was working in Neri, Warhade had befriended a few persons. He took their help to get shelter. Since the news of the double murder was out in the media, people got suspicious about the new person staying in the village since three days. “As people were getting curious to know his identity, Warhade tried to flee, but a mob caught him and handed him over the Chimur police. Later, he was handed over to the Shegaon police which booked him for committing cold-blooded murders,” said cops.

Dad Charged with Child Abuse Against 9-Week-Old Son, Previously Convicted for Child Abuse

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Dad charged with child abuse against 9-week-old son; previously convicted of assaulting girlfriend’s daughter in 1997 (Taylorsville, Utah)

Note that dad CASEY PERKINS is a 3-time loser. He was arrested in 2006 for traumatic brain injury to a child, but the case was dismissed. Then there was that time in 1997 when he was arrested for injuring his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter, who was shaken and suffered blunt force trauma to the head (Perkins was babysitting at the time). The little girl developed partial blindness and possible paralysis from the incident. Perkins was convicted and served prison time until 2005 for this assault.

Fast forward to 2009. Now Perkins’ 9-week-old son shows up at the pediatrician’s with a broken arm and broken rib injuries that are several weeks old. And dad’s trying to intimidate his wife into not cooperating.

This is but another example of why it’s pointless to make a big distinction between babysitting boyfriends and dads. You think that a guy who’s so low as to assault his girlfriend’s child will somehow–as if by the wave of a magic wand–be a loving dad to his own? Don’t think so. Violent child abusing scum is a violent child abusing scum.

Man faces charges in abuse of his son

TAYLORSVILLE — A man previously convicted of felony child abuse, and who had a second case dismissed, has been arrested again in connection with an abused child incident.

Casey Perkins, 34, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail over the weekend for investigation of three counts of child abuse, a second-degree felony.

On Wednesday, Perkins took his 9-week-old son to the hospital saying the boy was acting as if his arm was hurt, according to Salt Lake County Jail records.

On Friday, the Safe and Healthy Families pediatric specialist told Taylorsville police their examination showed the boy suffered a broken arm two to four weeks ago, “and the mechanism of injury was consistent with child abuse,” jail records state. The arm was re-injured on Wednesday, even though the parents claimed they were not aware the arm was broken, which is why they did not get it treated, according to jail records.

The hospital also found evidence of healing ribs that appeared to have been broken two to four weeks ago.

This is the third time Perkins has been arrested in Utah for child abuse.

In 2006, he was charged in Farmington’s 2nd District Court with misdemeanor child abuse. He told Taylorsville police that a child in his care sustained a traumatic brain injury in that case, according to jail records. But the case against him was eventually dismissed.

In 1997, Perkins was charged in Provo’s 4th District Court with two counts of child abuse, one felony and one misdemeanor. He eventually pleaded guilty to second-degree felony child abuse in exchange for the misdemeanor count being dropped.

In that 1997 case, Perkins was baby-sitting his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter in Lehi. She went out to run errands, only to be called later that night and told that her child was unconscious and not breathing, according to police.

Doctors later determined the child had been shaken and her head hit against a linoleum floor, according to police. The child survived, but at the time was given a diagnosis of possible paralysis and loss of sight in one eye.

He was sentenced to prison in August of 1997 and released in June of 2005. In 2006, he was sent back to prison on a parole violation and was released one year later on Sept. 25, 2007.

Because of his prior history, Taylorsville detectives in his latest case have made a request to a judge that “no bail be allowed, fearing that Casey’s release will present a danger to (redacted) who is currently in the hospital. Casey has tried to intimidate his wife as she cooperated with the police investigation,” the jail documents state.

A check of court records showed Perkins’ criminal record dates back to 1996 and includes additional convictions of theft and DUI. Right after his 1997 child abuse conviction, he was convicted of attempted assault by a prisoner, which was amended from a felony to a misdemeanor after he pleaded guilty.
